The Balance of Justice

Justice is a concept we talk about on a fairly regular basis, but many of us spend very little time considering what it actually means. Some can see it only as something that affects them. This is not the case, however, as Justice is not a one way street. It goes both inwards and outwards and we must try to strike a deep balance between these two flows of Justice.

One of the key concepts to keep in mind when interpreting the appearance of the Justice Card is fairness. When unfairness is rampant in your actions and decision making, the balance of your life is thrown off. When the balance is thrown off, we often rush to try to restore it. Much of the time this only serves to make things worse.

The Justice Card also reminds us that we ultimately will be held responsible for our actions. You can only fight against equilibrium for so long. Eventually the arms of Justice will balance themselves out. When they do, you will be held accountable for the actions you’ve taken. Make sure your behaviors are ones you are comfortable living with.

If the situation you currently find yourself in is a difficult one, The Justice card may be appearing to remind you that the decisions you’ve made in the past have helped lead to this difficult position you find yourself in. It’s important to remember that Justice finds a balance. If this balance is unfavorable for you, trace your steps and see where you initially abandoned fairness. By reflecting on just how your past choices have led to this point, you can begin to make decisions which will allow Justice to be more favorable to you.

This card often appears at times when you are faced with important decisions, sometimes ones with far-reaching, long term consequences. Be vigilant and try your hardest to seek truth with your final choice. You may be living with the results of your decisions for a very long period of time. Don’t fall into the trap of making the decision with the most immediate returns if it puts you in a position to pay a steeper price in the long run.

When you are dealing with other people, remember that we are all interconnected. None of our actions exist in a vacuum. If you are part of a group, The Justice Card may be calling you to take a position of leadership. This may be a time when you have a stronger sense of truth and fairness than those around you. Don’t be afraid to assert yourself. Your leadership may be the only thing that can lead your entire group to a positive outcome. Embrace this role!

When we strike a balance of fairness with all of the forces around us, we put ourselves in a favorable position for the long run. The universe will ultimately strike a balance.
