Chakras are seven energy centers that run along the spine, from the base to the top of the head, each linked to a different part of a person's physical, emotional, and spiritual life. The seven are: Root (security), Sacral (creativity), Solar Plexus (confidence), Heart (love), Throat (communication), Third Eye (intuition), and Crown (spiritual connection).

A chakra is often described as "blocked" or "open," with a blockage generally tied to specific emotional or physical symptoms in that area of the body. Energy healers and some psychics talk about "reading" or "balancing" chakras as part of a session, sometimes using crystals, sound, or breathwork to support that process.
