Clairalience is the ability to perceive intuitive information through smell, detecting a scent with no physical source, such as a loved one's perfume or a familiar smell tied to a memory or place. It's considered one of the rarer "clair" abilities, less commonly described than clairvoyance, clairaudience, or clairsentience.

During a reading or a spontaneous experience, a specific, unexplained scent is often interpreted as a sign of a spirit's presence, sometimes tied to a deceased loved one who was strongly associated with that particular smell in life.
